ABOUT US:
We are on a mission to provide resources and support to youth aging out of the foster care system in Georgia by providing support while they pursue post-secondary education. POSITION SUMMARY:
Fostering Success Act is seeking a Director of Donor Relations to lead and provide support directly related to fundraising and community engagement for this foster care organization across Georgia. The right candidate will be mission-driven to meet the needs of the organization.

The Fostering Success Act tax credit program allows individual Georgia tax payers and businesses to donate up to $20 million annually. Those who support in this way, will receive a dollar-for-dollar 100% credit when filing their Georgia income tax return.
This role will be the “face of the organization” working closely with the Executive Director as the direct engagement point for businesses and individuals within Georgia to help them learn more about and financially support the efforts of the organization through both the tax credit as well as general charitable donations.

This person needs to be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on, engaged leader who can connect directly with potential donors leading them to make a financial commitment and continued long-term support in the future.

The right candidate is a servant leader with a strategic, hunter mentality. This person needs an innate drive to commit to and surpass goals. It is important to be a problem solver who can identify needs and roadblocks and create plans to overcome them.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Develops and plans a comprehensive fundraising strategy with Executive Director

● Manages a portfolio of prospective and current donors, and research to continually identify, cultivate, and steward new donor relationships as part of an overall strategy to support the work of Fostering Success Act.

● Demonstrates the ability to lead and support fundraising strategies to ensure alignment with goals and overall mission of the organization

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

●Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in clients, staff, foster parents and families served

● Effective oral and written communication skills

● Strong public speaking and presentation skills

● Ability to work within a team

● Ability to handle job-related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner

● Knowledge of community resources and services

● Ability to organize and execute responsibilities in an independent manner

● Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook; required

● Proven coaching and mentoring skills

● Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills; required

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

● Minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, major gifts, and community engagement

● Relevant Bachelor’s level education in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or related field; required

● Experience with grant management and fundraising; preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position is based at the company headquarters in Alpharetta, GA
  • May require occasional offsite meetings
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
