Faithbridge Foster Care is helping solve Georgia’s foster care crisis

In Georgia, there are far more foster children than there are families to take care of them.  Through partner churches, nonprofit organization Faithbridge Foster Care helps find families who are willing to foster and adopt children.  And once they decide to foster or adopt, Faithbridge and the partner churches provide parenting tools and the support of a community of volunteers who help with everything from preparing meals and babysitting to mentoring and coaching.   Seventy one partners churches have placed more than 1200 foster kids, with more than 216 adoptions.

Watch this story of the Barlows, a Faithbridge family who opened their home to five siblings who were in foster care.  The Barlows adopted all five children and now, along with their biological son, are a family of 8.  “We’re just regular people.  But regular people who said yes” says Nicole Barlow.
