Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities for this position are business development and managing external client relationships to increase top line revenue and bottom-line results for Kirby Bates Associates (KBA).  The Vice President utilize effectives consultative sales and service strategies to acquire new customers, expand existing client relationships and cultivate business opportunities and long-term partnerships while creating superior value for our clients.  The Vice President is also expected to advance the profession and field of executive search through writing, lecturing, and career counseling. The position is virtual and necessary tools and equipment will be provided by the firm.

Job Description:

  • Utilize tools and resources (LinkedIn, internal database, sales leads etc.) for sourcing to identify prospects. 

  • Cold and warm calling by phone to qualify prospects, conduct initial needs analysis and set appointments for in person visits.

  • Actively engages in business development activities to achieve the individual’s and Executive Search Team’s annual sales revenue goal.

  • Enacts business development strategies and outreach plans through focused business generation efforts utilizing existing personal and business contacts.

  • Understands the strategy, business, and competitive positioning of the company.

  • Maintains prominence in professional organizations intrinsic to the advancement of the firm.

  • Regular travel of approximately to existing or potential client locations.

  • Acquire new customers and expand existing clients as assigned.

  • Conduct client needs assessment to determine their long-term strategy and short-term plans.

  • Improve market share within existing clients by securing searches, obtaining more favorable rates and/or contract terms that drives revenue for the business.

  • Conduct in-person demos and presentations.

  • Negotiate with client to achieve expected bill rates and contract terms.

  • Forge and nurture relationships with key client stakeholders to build lasting relationships with prospective clients.

  • Develops positive relationships with healthcare leaders and maintains a network of professional relationships to support the work of the firm.

  • Provides consultative advice to clients on market trends, supply/demand, and contemporary leadership strategies.

  • Conducts site visits with stakeholders to understand organizational culture and expectations, and challenges.

  • Act as liaison between clients and executive search team by actively participating in issue resolution, contract negotiations, rate increases.

  • Interact and work in conjunction with executive search team to improve client and geographic penetration.

  • Conduct regular Quarterly Business Reviews with assigned clients.

  • Exercise effective consultative sales strategies and closing techniques to successfully achieve individual revenue and performance goals monthly, quarterly, and annually.

  • Navigate client organizations in order to cultivate relationships and referrals with relevant departments and connect with the hierarchy of decision makers.

  • Supports the alignment of Executive Search Services with Jackson Healthcare corporate and KBA mission and culture.

  • Identifies market trends that may have an impact on future KBA business.

  • Supports the analysis and evaluation of client satisfaction; identifies improvements in processes to exceed client expectations.

  • Is actively involved with professional organization(s)and works with leadership of those organizations to identify opportunities for speeches, articles, or other supportive functions.

  • Maintains networking contacts with industry centers of influence to sell appropriate level of search work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’ degree preferred and demonstrated success in business development for executive level searches in healthcare.    

  • Proficient in the use of the Internet, search software, databases, Microsoft Word, and Excel. 

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to persuade and influence others.

  • Outstanding professionalism, honesty, and integrity.

  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and listening skills.

  • The ability to accept constructive criticism and learn from mistakes.

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in new business development in retained executive search.

  • Proven success in a high-pressure environment with a strong customer service orientation.

  • The ability to deliver results with little supervision.

  • A team player and the ability to collaborate with and inspire other team members.

  • Ability to travel and work remotely.

  • Communicates and works well with others in a team environment.

  • Ability to penetrate large corporate accounts.

  • Enthusiastic, competitive, results-driven and solutions-orientated with a strong work ethic and integrity.

  • Superior organizational, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Effective time management skills, with strong organization and prioritization abilities.

We are seeking applicants that can work remotely and live in AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, VA, TX, VT, WI, WV that will allow them to travel easily to client sites and company meetings. Must be able to work 8:30am-5:30pm EST.
