Senior Product Owner

The Senior Product Owner will help create and deliver best-in-class applications for both internal and external facing products. They will be dedicated to a SAFE (Agile) scrum team which will bring to life the latest in architectural technologies and integrations.  The Product Owner interacts and collaborates with stakeholders on key product considerations and aligns with product vision, features and roadmap.  They will become an expert on JCLT’s technology infrastructure and products by seeking a deep understanding of our customers and business needs, while working towards elegant solutions.

Additional Details:

  • Ability to break down broader Features (i.e. a set of capabilities, aka an "epic ) into smaller deliverable user stories. 

  • Empower the team’s delivery by presenting backlog, creating, owning and refining well-formed user stories and artifacts that describe and detail new features. 

  • Work with the team to create acceptance criteria and accept stories as they’re completed. 

  • Validate requirement designs by cross-referencing with other stakeholders and get buy in, achieving a consensus against the requirements. 

  • Recommend workarounds, remove bottlenecks and propose solutions for the stakeholders by having knowledge of both business and technology while keeping short and longterm goals in mind. 

  • Define and enhance workflows to promote efficiency and effectiveness for all customers with considerations on workflow, processes and future growth. 

  • Participate in and/or facilitate Agile ceremonies.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Product Owner role or similar 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of educations and experience. 

  • 5+ years of related experience in an Agile development environment 

  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development with SAFE and PI planning experience 

  • Ability to apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving with detailed analytical abilities 

  • Highly organized with attention to detail and effectively follow-through on tasks 

  • Prior experience with user-story management system, preferably Azure DevOps 

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of users and management
