Since the early 1990s, Clarkston, Georgia, a small town in metro Atlanta, has become home to about 60,000 refugees. With more than 150 ethnic groups represented, the New York Times has named the area “the most diverse square mile in America”. Like all refugees who come to the United States seeking better lives, they face many challenges. Jackson Healthcare Charities is proud to support Friends of Refugees in Clarkston, which focuses on well-being, education and employment as people assimilate into society.
